The Chief Public Prosecutor, heading the Human Trafficking Prosecution, announced that the First High Criminal Court has sentenced two individuals to three years in prison and a fine of BD 1,000 each. In addition, the court ordered the deportation of the female defendant after serving her sentence. The verdict came after they were found guilty of trafficking two victims for forced labour.

The Public Prosecution received a complaint from the victims, who reported that the defendants exploited them by forcing them to work in tasks different from what was agreed, without pay, under threats, and for long hours.

Following the complaint, the prosecution immediately launched an investigation, recording statements from the victims and interrogating the accused. Police investigations confirmed the allegations, leading to the defendants being referred to criminal court, which issued the ruling.
