Bahrain’s support for positive neutrality stressed
Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa underlined Bahrain’s continued support for the model of positive neutrality pursued successfully by Turkmenistan over the past decades based on the principles of peace, non-interference, and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all States.
Shaikh Khalid made the statements while taking part on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa along with the Heads of international delegations in the International Conference on “Policy of Neutrality: International Cooperation for Peace, Security and Development,” marking the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.
The Minister also expressed Bahrain’s pride in its friendly relations with Turkmenistan, and looking forward to expanding bilateral cooperation in all areas, building on President Berdimuhamedov’s successful visit to Bahrain in 2011.
Shaikh Khalid commended the contributions of Turkmenistan in maintaining international security and sustainable development.
He also noted its innovative approaches in international diplomatic, economic and trade relations it pursued with all countries. “It made Turkmenistan and its people a model to be emulated,” he commented.
