Vice Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Jamal Buhassan said that the real problem of the Arabs was the trio of Israel, Iran and the US. “The US, Israel and Iran do not want us to be in peace,” he said.
According to him, the problem dates back to 1979 when the Shah of Iran Reza Shah Pahlavi was dethroned to pave way for Khomeini’s revolution.
Speaking to DT News at his office in Parliament House here in Gudaibiya, he commented: “Analysing things, one would notice that everything was quite fine before 1979. The year 1979 had some special significance in the world history. It was the same year when Soviet Union attacked Afghanistan and the whole region was thrown into war. Iran-Iraq war also followed afterwards and now comes the Arab Spring.”
“Since the Khomeini’s revolution in Iran our situation has been constantly changing and it’s been deteriorating. Still there is no end in sight,” he observed.
Buhassan alleged that Israel, Iran and the US had a secret pact to destabilise the Arab world. “They have been doing secret meetings and we have the relevant evidence.”
“There was a time when Egypt, Iraq and Syria had very good armies in the region. But they have been destroyed by clear plot. Where are those armies now?” he queried.
He also opined that Iran was implicitly protecting the interests of Israel. “Hezbollah is also protecting the Israeli borders. No one can attack Israel through Lebanon as Hezbollah is guarding Israeli borders,” Buhassan said
Commenting on the absence of HM the King Hamad and Saudi King Abdullah in the Camp David Summit, Buhassan said that it was a message to the US that “we are not happy with the deal they are going to make with Iran.”
He said that till now they had not been given the right information through right channels about the US Iran nuclear deal except what they had read in the newspapers.
On Islamic State (IS), he said that he did not see any threat from IS to Bahrain. “The IS militants could enter Saudi Arabia through its open borders. But Bahrain is a small place with closed and fully protected borders. So the danger of IS for Bahrain is out of the question,” he added.
