The Southern Governorate Municipality will strictly enforce a new waste management policy aimed at maintaining public cleanliness. Under the provisions of the Public Cleanliness Law, violators will face fines ranging from BD50 to BD300 for failing to properly dispose of their waste in designated containers.
A municipal source confirmed that the Southern Governorate has recently activated a decision to stop removing household waste left on public roads in several areas.
Compliance This step is part of broader efforts to encourage compliance with waste disposal regulations and ensure cleaner public spaces across the governorate.
The municipality is set to launch awareness campaigns in the coming weeks aimed at promoting environmental preservation and public cleanliness.
These initiatives will focus on educating citizens about the Public Cleanliness Law and the importance of not disposing of household waste in front of homes, on sidewalks, or in public roads, which leads to environmental degradation and cleanliness violations.
Designated hours Residents are urged to dispose of their waste during designated hours, specifically from 8pm to 10pm, and to utilise proper waste collection points, such as garbage bins.
The municipality has received increasing complaints from neighbors and residents regarding the unsightly presence of black garbage bags left outside homes and on sidewalks, which contribute to various health problems.
The source stressed that these issues have led to heightened community concern and a desire for action.
