HH Shaikh Mohammed praises Rotary Award

His Highness Shaikh Mohamed bin Salman Al Khalifa, son of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, yesterday attended the opening ceremony of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) at the Bahraini Businesswomen and Professionals Club, which is being held under his patronage.

HH Shaikh Mohamed praised the objectives behind the RYLA and the opportunities it presents to its participants.

HH Shaikh Mohamed noted that through its training and interactive sessions, RYLA would allow participants to develop skills that would benefit them in their future endeavours and careers, and enable them to serve their communities and countries effectively.

During his speech at the event, HH Shaikh Mohamed outlined that integrity, trust and teamwork were key traits every leader should acquire in order to bring positive change.

His Highness added that the RYLA award was a very welcome initiative, and highlighted the impressive potential of each of the participants in the programme.

HH Shaikh Mohamed went on to commend the role played by the Rotary Club of Adliya in organising the event, and praised the Club’s contributions over the past 20 years, which included a wide range of community-based programmes focused on youth empowerment.

During the event, Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa, President of the Bahraini Businesswomen and Professionals Club, gave an address which highlighted the important role that the government and the private sectors played in supporting SMEs and pioneering initiatives such as the RYLA to prepare Bahrain’s youth to enter the labour market.

In this regard, she expressed her thanks to the Government of Bahrain, Tamkeen and Bahrain Development Bank for all their efforts and support in providing dynamic employment opportunities to all Bahrainis. 

Also during the event, Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Tamkeen and Acting Chief Executive, gave an address which underlined the importance of events such as the RYLA in empowering youth and stimulating their innovative ideas and thoughts into reality in order to contribute to the development of the Kingdom.

 

 

He went on to praise the RYLA and recognised it as a vital programme that contributed to instilling the entrepreneurial values in the minds of young people.

Speeches were also given by Julian-Clarke Jerviouse, president of the Rotary Club; Khalil Sharif, former Governor of District 2452, and Douri Atassi, Chairman of the RYLA Committee.

 

The speeches included expressions of gratitude to HH Shaikh Mohamed for his support to RYLA, as well as broader points about the objectives of the award.
