Bahrain-India ties lauded
Manama : Indian National Congress President Rahul Gandhi praised the warm ties between Bahrain and India as he presented a memento to Shaikh Khalifa bin Duaij Al Khalifa at the finale of the GOPIO Convention.
Gandhi praised the hospitality and harmony of Bahrain and said the Kingdom had much to teach the world on how to nurture peace and inter-faith harmony. “Bahrain has deep ties of friendship with India and we welcome your visit which lends itself so well to a better understanding of contemporary India,” Shaikh Khalifa bin Duaij said in response.
Mementoes were also presented to Member of Parliament, Dr. Shashi Tharoor and to the Chairman of Overseas Congress, Dr. Sam Pitroda who were part of Gandhi’s delegation.
