Attacked Bahrain security guard recovering

Manama : The Jordanian theme park security guard who was recently attacked by a group of men while securing the facility is recovering from his injuries and was discharged from the hospital.

This was confirmed as Deputy Chief of Public Security Brigadier Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa received the man at his office in the ministry yesterday.

DT News reported that at least 12 men were involved in the brutal attack on the guard at Adhari Park in the Capital on October 19.

His case surfaced as footage of him being beaten up by the group was widely circulated on Bahraini, GCC and Jordanian social media networks.

The guard was rushed to Salmaniya Medical Complex by ambulance and he remained there under observation for a couple of days, as he was diagnosed with several fractures to the skull and face and other injuries.

Brigadier Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and Jordanian Ambassador to Bahrain Rami Saleh Wreikat Al Adwan visited the man in the hospital and were briefed by the medical teams on his condition.

A probe was immediately launched by the concerned authorities into the details of the incident.

At least seven men were soon arrested and interrogated by the Public Prosecution, which announced that they will be referred to the criminal court. Additionally, it was announced that search is continued to arrest the remaining suspects.

In his meeting with the Deputy Chief of Public Security yesterday, the guard expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Interior Ministry for its efforts to arrest the attackers and refer them to the Public Prosecution. He commented that “Bahrain would always remain the country of security and peace”.
