Muharraq Council lauds project implementation

Manama : Members of Muharraq Municipal Council praised the Ghous Interchange Revamp Project and the project connecting Avenue 9 of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Highway (Phase 2) to Busaiteen, which aims to accommodate urban growth in Busaiteen and the areas located north of Muharraq. Both projects are part of the first group of development projects aiming to alleviate congestion across vital interchanges in the Kingdom, which come in response to directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.

The members of Muharraq Municipal Council also commended His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for his efforts to improve the lives of citizens by facilitating their mobility. Municipal Council member for the Muharraq governorate, Yousif Al Rayes highlighted that the citizens of Muharraq are very happy with both projects, as they will help alleviate congestion, especially during school semesters. Al Rayes extended thanks to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for the support and commitment provided. He also extended thanks to the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf for the efforts of the Ministry to accommodate citizens’ and residents’ needs.

Vice-Chairman of Muharraq Municipal Council Mohammed Khalifa Hirz extended special thanks to the Works Ministry and the team that has worked on both projects, expressing relief at the successful implementation of both projects, projects that would not have been successful without the wise directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.

Representative to the 3rd Constituency Najim Al Sinan stated that both the Ghous Interchange Project and the project connecting Avenue 9 of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Highway to Busaiteen have contributed greatly to alleviating congestion, especially with the recent urban growth in the area. He also extended thanks to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for directing the Ministry to implement development projects to address the problem of congestion. Al Sinan also thanked the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf and staff of the Ministry for their efforts and continuous collaboration with Municipal Councils.

In total, 11 short-term projects are underway to alleviate congestion throughout the Kingdom. The Ghous Interchange and Busaiteen Entrance Projects are being implemented urgently following specific directives from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and form part of a wider plan launched by the Ministry of Works.
