Bahrain to face Egypt tomorrow

Manama : Hosts Bahrain are set to open its campaign against African giants Egypt tomorrow night at 7pm in Pool A on the opening day round of matches in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship.

Eight matches are scheduled to be held on each day of the competition’s preliminary round, which is scheduled until Tuesday at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm at two halls in Shaikh Isa Sports City in Riffa.

The opening stage features four pools of five nations apiece playing round-robin with the top four teams in each advancing to the Round of 16 knockout phase, following a rest day on August 23.

Bahrain will play all its matches at 7pm, its second Pool A match is on Saturday against United States, Sunday the nationals have a rest day and resume action on Monday against Puerto Rico and conclude the pool matches on Tuesday against Tunisia.

The Round of 16 will be held on August 24, the quarter finals on the 25th, the Semi-finals on the 26th and then the Gold and Bronze Medal matches on August 27.

There will also be classification games from August 24 to 26 for the bottom-ranked squads.
