Athletics results hailed
Manama : Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar has commended the achievement of Bahrain athletes Rose Chelimo and Salwa Eid Naser at the 16th IAAF World Athletics Championships in London, which concluded on Sunday.
Chelimo won the women’s marathon gold medal, while Naser clinched the women’s 400m silver medal.
Askar congratulated the kingdom’s leadership on this occasion, along with HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities for their support of sports in Bahrain.
