Goals galore in Futsal League

Manama : Goals flowed after the third day of preliminary round matches in the Fifth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5) on Wednesday at the Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.

In Group 3 action, Ras Rumman Youth Centre were 4-1 winners over Dar Kulaib Club thanks to a hat-trick by man of the match awardee Fadhil Adel to put his team on top place in the group.

Three matches were also played in Group 4, starting with Al Wusta and Jidhafs who played out a 1-1 draw, with Mohammed Abdul-Kareem Ghareeb of Jidhafs adjudged as man of the match.

Karranah then edged out Sadad 3-2 to lead the group on three points as Sayed Qassim Mohammed for the victors was man of the match.

The final match between Jurdab and Al Dair Club finished in a 2-2 draw after the former led 2-0 through goals by Ali Mohammed Yaqoub and Abdulaziz Dallal needed a great display by man of the match for Al Dair goalkeeper Sayed Mohammed Mustafa, who made many fine saves many shots and kept his net still until the final quarter of the match.

Earlier on Tuesday on second day action in Group 2, Hoora and Gudaibiya demolished East Riffa 10-1 after man of the match Maher Isa scored twice and credited with a couple of assists.

In another match, Karbabad saw off Al Qurayya 6-0 thanks to man of the match Ali Abdulla with two goals and four assists and now share top place with Hoora and Gudaibiya.

Group 3 saw Salmabad beat near neighbours Zayed Town 7-2  despite Zayed Town taking the lead by one goal in the first five minutes of the match. However, Salmabad equalised soon after on nine minutes inspired by man of the match, Hussain Ali.

Bani Jamra also won in the same group by the same margin (7-2), to be joint leader of the group with man of the match Fadhel Abbas netting a hat-trick and involved in a number of assists.

The league features 59 teams, divided into 36 youth centres teams, 9 unregistered clubs, 8 teams of people with disabilities institutions and 6 girls teams, which started on July 24 and concludes on September 14.
