Algerian man jailed for molesting Bahraini woman in Dubai

Manama : A 28-year-old Algerian man, who was accused by a Bahraini women of making lewd remarks and touching her without consent, has been jailed in Dubai. 

According to her, the man approached her and requested for sex and touched her twice. The Bahraini lady had to beat the man with her shoe to ward him off. 

The man was convicted by the court in Dubai for molestation and will be jailed for six months. 

“The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted him of molesting the woman and cursing her in public. The lawyer and her friend were walking around the mall when the defendant called out to her, asking her to stop. He approached the woman and told her that he wanted to be acquainted with her and have sex,” Gulf News reported.

“He called out to me saying ‘please, please stop’. I ignored him and continued walking. Then he called me again and I stopped. He told me that he wanted to get to know me and have sex with me. I took off my slipper and hit him. He then cursed me and also cursed Arabs. I yelled at him to draw attention of other shoppers’ but no one intervened. I put my slipper back on and walked away. He took me by surprise and touched me twice. Thereafter, I filmed him with my mobile and he ran away,” she said
