Hobday wins Audi quattro Cup Series

Manama : Despite near gale force winds, Sam Hobday (32 stableford points) narrowly managed to win the fourth round of the Audi quattro Cup Series at the Royal Golf Club on count back ahead of Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed (32).

Jim Lanceley (128 points) continues to top the series order of merit for the third consecutive month, while Ben Elsworth (115) now holds second place.

A field of over 50 players turned for battle in the prestigious series which will be played out over a total of six rounds at the Royal Golf Club.

The series winners of the Bahrain tournament will have an opportunity to go forward and compete in the World finals, which this year will be held at Quivira Golf Club in Cabo San Luca, Mexico, in December.

Over 100,000 players compete in 750 tournaments in 54 countries annually and the Audi quattro Cup has developed into the biggest worldwide amateur golf tournament series.

Registration is open for the next round of the competition which takes place on May 6.
