The King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, once a local desert custom, is now a major competition, with prizes and gifts worth millions of Saudi riyals.  Often referred to as Miss Camel globally, the festival attracts thousands of visitors and enthusiasts every day, organisers said.

The annual historic heritage festival held in Rimah, north of the capital Riyadh, was founded in 1999 by a group of local Bedouin people to select the most beautiful camel.
