GPIC President hails Princess Sabeeka Award for women
Manama : Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women Empowerment Award will contribute to the empowerment of women in several countries and develop the abilities and skills of women in all sectors, according to Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC) President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery.
“The launch of the global version of the prestigious Award during the forum is a moment that history will record with great pride and will serve as a historic moment for the Kingdom,” Dr Jawahery said.
“Her Royal Highness has been able to emphasize the role of the Supreme Council for Women and highlight it as an advisory for all matters pertaining to the Bahraini women. The council provides expertise and management in the field of women’s development and enables them to be an integral part in the development of the Kingdom.”
The Award was officially announced by Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa on March 13 at the UN headquarters in New York. GPIC has won the prestigious award in 2008 and 2015.
