Four gets prison for planting fake bomb
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced four people to five years behind bars for rioting and planting a hoax bomb.
The defendants are believed to have rioted in the village of A’ali, where they put the fake device before they fled.
They were reported to have also burnt tyres during the process. The defendants were arrested after investigations established their involvement in the act.
The first defendant told prosecutors that he had participated in the riot after receiving a text message from the third accused.
“We met near a mosque, and then we headed to another area where the tyres were stored. We prepared the fake bomb there also,” the first defendant said during questioning.
Bomb experts were called to examine the device, and they declared it as fake.
