Bahrain expat dies in accident

Manama: An Indian expatriate sales executive passed away in a traffic accident which occurred at BIC road in Zallaq.

Sripad Prasad Bandodkar (28) who died in the accident was a Retail Sales Executive with First Motors, Hyundai Bahrain.

He was riding a bike when a SUV hit him on Friday around 9.40 am. Prasad was riding his bike and turning into the petrol station at the junction on signal turning green followed by another bike.

Regrettably, the SUV cut red signal from the other side and crashed into Prasad's bike.

He was thrown into the air and fell and fractured his hip bone, arms and caused internal injury as well. He was taken to BDF hospital subsequently.

Surprisingly he didn’t lose consciousness and provided telephone number of his dad to people around.

He sustained consciousness until 1pm when suddenly his heart started failing rapidly. BDF hospital doctors tried their best to revive him but he finally succumbed to injuries at 1.20pm.

Prasad was 28 years of age, still a bachelor, and born and brought up in Bahrain itself and was an ex-student of the Asian School and the Indian School and he did his graduation in Global Institute in Bahrain.

His father Jai Prakash Bandodkar works for Redex and has been a resident of Bahrain since 1977.

Prasad's mother Swarupa Preethi Prakash Bandodkar and brother Pratik Prakash Bandodkar are in Mumbai, India. The family roots are from Goa. The family has decided to take his body for final rites to his hometown.

The SUV driver is taken into custody. There will be a memorial arranged by his family friends at the Father’s House AG Church, Umm Al Hassam on January 17 at 07.30pm.
