RCSI Bahrain hosts ‘International Night’

Manama : Students, staff and guests turned out to celebrate the international diversity of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI Bahrain) at one of the Busaiteen campus’ biggest events of the year.

The annual RCSI Bahrain ‘International Night’ showcases the cultures and tastes of some of the 36 nationalities represented across the university’s School of Medicine, School of Nursing and Midwifery, and School of Postgraduate Studies and Research.

Among the displays of traditional foods, costumes and entertainment from all around the globe – which were organised and run by the students themselves – were those traditional favourites from Canada, Kuwait, Egypt and Lebanon; new-comers, Iceland and Romania and of course, Bahrain.

Once again, one of the highlights of the evening was the traditional fashion show and dance performance, which took place on the impressive main stage.

The idea for the event, which was organised by the RCSI Bahrain’s Student Council, in coordination with the Student Services Department, has been adapted from the RCSI campus in Dublin, which plays host to its own International Night each year.

RCSI Bahrain currently has a cohort of over 1,300 students, more than 50% percent of which are international.

RCSI Bahrain is a constituent university of RSCI, which was established in 1784. Like its Irish counterpart, RCSI Bahrain is a not-for-profit health sciences institution focused on education and research to drive positive change in all areas of human health worldwide.
