Lawbreakers to be held legally accountable

Any calls to disrupt security and general order in Bahrain are a crime under the law and anyone who responds to such calls and engages in illegal behaviour will be held legally accountable, said the Chief of Public Security.

Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan was speaking yesterday as part of the commemoration marking the 15th anniversary of the National Action Charter.

The Chief said the police are monitoring illegal calls aimed at terrorising the public and disrupting general order, adding that they will confront anyone aiming to upset the stability of the Kingdom.

The Al Hassan stated there would be a visible increase in police presence over the next few days to ensure that the public feels secure.

Anyone witnessing criminal behaviour is advised to call the police hotline at 80008008.  All calls are treated anonymous.
