Karters set to hit the track

The Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) hosts round three tomorrow of the hugely popular Bahrain Karting Sprint Championship (BKSC) for the 2015/2016 Bahrain Rotax Mojo Max Challenge (BRMMC), along with round five of the 2015/2016 Bahrain SWS Sprint  Championship (SSWS) in Sakhir.

An afternoon of intense racing awaits as some of the best karters at the national level will be vying for a coveted podium place and are required to be at the venue by 1pm. for the drivers’ weigh-in and registration.

The day’s action then gets underway with the BRMMC free practice at 3pm, while qualifying for the Rotax competitors follows at 3.45pm, which will set up the grid for race one at 4.40pm. The BRMMC’s second race is scheduled for a 5.40pm. flag-off.

For the SSWS, qualifying is at 3.25pm, while race one is set for 4.10pm and race two an hour later at 5.10pm.

The BRMMC is for Rotax kart owners, and racing will be held in various categories and entry fees are BD55.

The SSWS is an arrive-and-drive championship, and racing is open to interested individuals aged 15 and above of any nationality and skill level, both men and women. All participants will race in identical RT8 Sodikarts provided by BIKC and to participate in the SSWS, drivers must pay a fee of BD60.

Heading into tomorrow’s meeting, Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa leads the BRMMC’s Max/Max Masters category with 100 points and has won all four races so far. Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Khalifa (76) is second, while Hussain Hassan (52) is third.
