A young man who received three years for violently attacking and breaking another person’s nose for dancing with his girlfriend has successfully appealed his case, resulting in his prison term being reduced to just a year. The intense confrontation unfolded in a Bahrain nightclub, where the accused was jolted by a surge of rage upon witnessing his girlfriend dancing with the victim.

Driven by uncontrollable anger, the man confronted the victim and unleashed a relentless assault that left him battered and bruised. Witnesses present at the scene recalled the man forcefully driving his victim to the ground and unleashing a barrage of brutal punches on the defenceless victim’s face.

Medical experts testifying in court said the victim suffered a severe injury to his nose, which now bears a permanent fracture, leaving him with a debilitating 5% disability. This has led to the man receiving a three-year jail sentence, which was then challenged by his legal team with an appeal.

Their efforts bore fruit as the court reconsidered the gravity of the circumstances, resulting in a reduction of the jail term by two years. The public prosecution had charged the suspect with physical assault resulting in permanent disability.
