A rare honour
The Kingdom’s Interior Minister was honoured with a unique award by the US-based Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE International). This came as Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday received Bahrain Ambassador to the United States, Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
Capital Governor and Head of the committee of Maan “Together” programme against violence and addiction, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, also attended. The Interior Minister received the Personality of the Year Award 2018 in appreciation of the success of the Maan Programme and the progress the Interior Ministry made compared with other organisations accredited by the organisation.
He expressed gratitude to the prestigious award that reflected an appreciation of the professionalism and excellence of the work team of Maan. He extended thanks to all those working in the programme, including supervisors, trainers and sponsors for their essential role in the success of the programme.
