Fourth Edition of Shop Bahrain opens

Manama : The 30-day shopping extravaganza ‘Shop Bahrain’ kick-started yesterday opening doors to an exciting journey through Bahrain’s tourism, retail and hospitality sectors.

The event, now in its fourth edition, was launched from the ‘Festival City’ located at Bahrain Bay under the patronage of Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed Bin Rashid Al Zayani.

“The Festival aims to promote the Kingdom as an accessible family destination by offering fun-filled activities and promotions,” said Al Zayani opening the festival which runs until 10 February 2018.

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) is organising the festival in cooperation with partners from the public and private sectors such as Tamkeen, VIVA Bahrain, YK Al Moayyed and Gulf Air.

“Hosting this event comes in-line with BTEA’s long-term strategy ‘Ours.Yours’ that contributes to the Kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030,” said Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa.

This year’s festival will feature the return of the ‘Festival City’ and the ‘Taste Tour’ that will include more than 40 restaurants located all around the Kingdom offering a mouth-watering set of menus. Also on offer is an exciting range of activities at the participating malls and hotels.

Shoppers will be enrolled in the festival’s loyalty system when purchasing directly from any participating outlet and partner allowing them to win a wide range of prizes including one of the 20 cars and over 80,000 instant valuable prizes.

Further commenting on the launch ‘Shop Bahrain’ Director, Yousef Alkhan said: “We expect a great influx of visitors as the Festival coincides with the local and GCC vacations.” Organisers held a GCC roadshow in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to promote the Festival and increase the number of tourists coming to Bahrain.

Shoppers and visitors can learn more about “Shop Bahrain” through the website: www.shopbahrain.com or through the account @shopbahrain on the social networking channels Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. The Festival organisers have also launched a dedicated WhatsApp channel on 33480480.
