Manama : Hezbollah is conspiring with the leaders of Lebanon and Qatar to spread chaos in the region, Foreign Affairs Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa stated yesterday. The minister’s comments came as first response to recent statements made by his Qatari counterpart Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who said that “what happened to Qatar is now happening in Lebanon”.
The Qatari minister accused Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt, of initiating “attempts to bully smaller countries in the region and forcing them to surrender”.
Shaikh Khalid tweeted yesterday responding to Al Thani’s statements, saying, “What happened with Qatar is happening with Iran. Yes, what he said is true. Hezbollah is freely roaming in both countries and allying with their leaderships and conspiring to overthrow states and spread chaos.”
Shaikh Khalid’s comments came in reference to the biggest Iranian allies in region, the Qatari government and Hezbollah terrorist militias, and their destructive policies in the region.
The minister also commented on allegations made by some Lebanese officials, accusing several countries, including Saudi Arabia, of meddling in their domestic affairs.
“Allegations based on lies are short lived. Lebanon’s officials must come up with facts or dignify themselves with silence. Their words are offensive to Lebanon and to the history of Lebanon,” the minister said.
