Easy win for Sparsh Parmar
Manama : Top seed Sparsh Parmar easily defeated Mohammed Huda 6-0, 6-0 in the quarter-finals of the Boys Singles 12 years and under category yesterday at the Fifth E.K.Kanoo Junior Open Tennis Championship at the Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) premises in Juffair.
The second seed Sairaghav Balakrishnan had to work hard to overcome the challenge of Abdulla Nass 7-6(4), 6-4, while Yousef Fares was a 6-4, 6-3 winner over Fares Hajjar and Mathias Hopman got the better of Mohammed Al Shehabi 6-3, 6-2.
In the Girls Singles 16 years and under category, top seed Aleina Alex received a walkover win from Tanvi Manikoth, while second seed and Bahraini Federation Cup player Nazley Nader was a comfortable 6-0, 6-0 winner over Savanna Colkit 6-0, 6-0.
In other matches, Manni Zhang was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Renali Senaratne and Sairama Balakrishnan received a walkover win from Bhavya Krishna. A Unisex mini tennis festival gets underway on Thursday.
