Rich Rajasthani royal culture showcased

SakhirRajasthani royal culture, art, food, music and dance were showcased at the ‘Padharo Mhare Des 2018’ event organized by Rajasthanis in Bahrain (RIB) in cooperation with the Indian Embassy on February 2.

Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Alok Kumar Sinha, was the chief guest at the event attended by Bahraini and Indian business personalities, professionals, bankers and embassy officials.  The founder and honorary chairman of the Almoayyed International Group Farouk Yousuf Almoayyed was the guest of honour. 

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha highlighted efforts to connect with the Indian diaspora and to promote Indian tourism through various events organized by the Indian Embassy. He stressed on the strong bilateral ties between both countries.

Almoayyed admired the efforts of the Indian community in their contribution to the Bahraini economy. He also praised the warm tradition and rich culture of Rajasthan highlighted at the event.

RIB head Alok Gupta elaborated on the annual event and stressed on the community’s efforts in humanitarian work and the Rajasthani contribution to Bahrain.

“We Rajasthanis love our motherland and our motherland teaches us to be committed towards work. The Kingdom of Bahrain is our ‘Karm Bhoomi’ (workplace) and we are committed to it. Padharo Mhare Des event helps us to showcase the rich royal culture of Rajasthan and it gives us the opportunity to be connected with our roots,” said Gupta.

 Around 40 Rajasthani food delicacies were featured during the event. RIB members presented Rajasthani cultural events and games. Children enjoyed the special camel ride.

The event, organized by Gallure, showcased mockups of the majestic Rajasthani forts, intricately carved temples and traditional mansions built by kings from various eras.

One of the key performances from RIB kids was based the Government of India’s “Beti Bachao, Beti Padao” campaign promoting education for the girlchild.
