Bahrain’s value of imports reach BD433 m in July 2017

Manama : Bahrain’s value of imports has reached about BD433 million in July this year, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) said yesterday.

The top ten countries accounted for 64 per cent of the imports while the rest of the countries constituted 36 per cent. 

According to the iGA report, China topped the list of exporters to Bahrain with BD65 million.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) came second with BD52 million whereas Japan was ranked third with BD28 million. 

Non-agglomerated ores and concentrates emerged as the top product imported to Bahrain with BD16 million, while the four-wheel drive as the second with BD14 million.  Aluminum oxide were the third products with BD12 million during July 2017. 

The value of the exported national origin has reached approximately BD145 million.

The top ten countries accounted for 80 per cent of the exported national origin value and 20 per cent accounted for  other  countries.

Saudi Arabia was the top importer from Bahrain with BD37 million. 

United States of America came second with BD24 million and UAE third with BD15 million.

As for exported products, aluminum wire emerged as the top products exported in July 2017 with BD20 million; agglomerated iron ores and concentrates were positioned second products exported with a value of BD13 million; and unwrought aluminum alloys stood third place for exported products with BD11 million.

Re-exports reached BD44 million. 

The top ten countries account for 94 per cent of the re-exported value and 6 per cent other countries. 

Saudi Arabia was ranked the top re-exporter from Bahrain with BD20 million, China ranked second with BD8 million and UAE third with BD6 million.

Four-wheel drive cars emerged as the top product re-exported from Bahrain with BD10.2 million, cigarettes came as second products with BD1.8 million, and sedan cars came third with BD1.6 million. 

The trade balance --- the difference between exports and imports – recorded increase in the value of the deficit in May 2017, reaching BD244 million.
