Abuja: Nigerian professional wig maker Helen Williams has achieved a historic "hat-trick" of Guinness World Records by creating the world’s tallest wig, a towering masterpiece standing at 50.42 feet. The structure is so massive that it stands taller than a three-story building and is wider than the Hollywood sign is long. To bring this vision to life, Williams used 250 bundles of string hair and invested over 3 million Naira, approximately $2,066, in materials. Despite an initial test run that failed to stand upright, she redesigned the internal support system over several months to ensure the final creation could withstand the record-breaking attempt.

This achievement completes a trio of global titles for Williams, who already holds the records for the world’s longest handmade wig and the widest wig. A dedicated artisan and instructor who often teaches her craft to others for free, Williams described the process as "climbing a mountain," noting that while the technical challenges were immense, the final result was "incredible." With this third major title secured, the "Wig Queen of Nigeria" has solidified her status as a global icon in hair artistry, stating that she has no plans to stop breaking records anytime soon.
