President Donald Trump suggested that Vice President JD Vance is likely to be the future face of the “Make America Great Again” movement, possibly leading the Republican Party in the 2028 presidential race.
In an interview, Fox News’ Steve Doocy asked if Vance is the clear heir to MAGA. Trump replied, “Well, I think most likely. In all fairness, he’s the vice president.” He also floated the idea of Senator Marco Rubio as a potential running mate for the future, saying Rubio “maybe would get together with JD in some form.”
Meanwhile, Trump turned his attention to the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. On Tuesday, he signed an executive order creating a task force to oversee preparations for the Games.
The task force will focus on security, logistics, and smooth entry for athletes, coaches, media, and visitors traveling to the United States. It will also handle visa processing and event credentialing.
“The L.A. Olympics is shaping up to be a wonderful moment for America. It’s going to be incredible. It’s so exciting,” Trump said at the White House, calling the Games a major highlight for the country.
The 2028 Summer Games will mark the first time the United States has hosted the Olympics since the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City. Trump said the goal is to make the Los Angeles Olympics “safe, seamless, and historically successful.”
