His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday called for intensified international collaboration to build a safer, more stable, and prosperous Middle East.

He urged regional leaders to commit to a just peace that secures the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and prevents the spread of weapons of mass destruction.

Speaking at the Gulf Cooperation Council–United States (GCC–US) Summit in Riyadh, HM the King stressed the importance of a unified approach to regional security and peacebuilding, particularly through the two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and broader disarmament efforts.

HM King Hamad was joined by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Wise policy

“We look forward to further collaboration in forging a safe, stable, and prosperous region for all countries,” HM the King said.

“This wise policy offers a unique chance for us to move forward together toward achieving a just and lasting peace in the Middle East — one that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people through the two-state solution.”

He added that peace and regional stability can only be sustained by eliminating threats of militarisation and conflict escalation. “We must uphold regional security and stability, and contribute to making the region free of weapons of mass destruction and preventing an arms race,” HM King Hamad said.

Strategic partnerships

The summit brought together leaders from the GCC states and the US to strengthen strategic partnerships and address pressing regional and global developments.

His Majesty expressed appreciation for the diplomatic efforts led by the US to de-escalate conflicts and promote peace across the region, including its ongoing negotiations with Iran and its decision to lift economic sanctions on Syria.

“There is no doubt that the success of the ongoing negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran will bolster stability and elevate levels of prosperity for the countries of the region — efforts that we value and greatly commend,” he said.

Leadership

HM the King also praised the humanitarian leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting peace initiatives, including efforts to mediate the Russia–Ukraine war.

Underscoring Bahrain’s enduring alliance with the US, HM King Hamad highlighted the importance of continued security cooperation, notably through the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet based in Bahrain.

“Our historic cooperation with the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet is living proof of our partnership and confirmation of our steadfast commitment to safeguarding maritime navigation in the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea, ensuring these routes remain free from piracy and terrorism,” he said.

Commitment

HM the King concluded by reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to deepening economic and commercial ties with the US, describing strategic integration as essential to preserving national gains and meeting the aspirations of Gulf citizens.

“We affirm Bahrain’s determination to continue strengthening economic and commercial ties with the United States,” he said.
