Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, and the Bahrain Motor Federation (BMF), represented by the Circuit Racing Commission of Bahrain (CRC), will launch a new touring car race series later this year and are calling on all racers, including novices and those with racing experience, to register their interest for this exciting new championship.

Building on the success of the 2,000cc Challenge, which has been a cornerstone of local racing in Bahrain for 16 seasons, the new championship will allow more flexibility on cars that are permitted to enter, thereby making it easier for new participants to join the grid and will also help reduce costs for drivers wishing to participate.

Interest

BIC and CRC are inviting all interested parties to submit expressions of interest, by filling in a simple online form available at Baharingp.com.

Once registered, drivers will be invited to a series of open days, workshops and seminars, which are all designed to help those who are new to competition racing, as well as experienced racers, to understand the new rules for the series, support with sourcing and development of cars, as well as providing insights into securing sponsorship and other financial support.

Open days will also offer the opportunity for drivers to test out the types of cars that can be used in the new championship at BIC’s track over the coming weeks.

At these events, drivers will also have the chance to speak to local experts who will provide support across all areas relevant to those taking their first steps into racing.

The overall aim of the new championship is to support broader participation in local racing, lower the financial barriers to entry, and provide support and education to novice racers who are looking to gain their first experience in track racing
