Ettihad edge past Hala in basketball league

Al Ettihad edged past Al Hala 110-107 last night in their week 22 game of the 2022/2023 Zain Bahrain Basket ball League, being played at Zain Basketball Arena in Um Al Hassam.

Mohammed Ghazwan made a three-pointer with just under three minutes remaining to tie the game at 102-apiece.

Ettihad then went on a winning run from there, scoring the next five points to power away from their opponents.

The victors then converted the necessary end-game freethrows to close out the contest.

Hassan Albossta finished as their leading scorer with 32 points, including six three-pointers.

American Adrian Uter added 24 points and 17 rebounds, while Ghazwan scored 23 for Ettihad.

Hala were paced by the 27 points of Tony Farmer, who also had 13 rebounds and seven assists.

Ahmed Khalifa added 22 in the loss.

Ettihad improved to a 14-6 win-loss record with the result, while Hala dropped to a 9-11 mark.

League action continues tonight with Muharraq facing Samaheej and Nuwaidrat taking on Bahrain Club.

Tomorrow, Ahli take on Sitra while defending champions Manama play Al Najma.
