Marwan clinchs BTA under-12 title

Marwan Safi was crowned champion of the 12-and-under category in the Bahrain Tennis Academy (BTA) Junior Tennis Tournament, played at the courts of the Bahrain Tennis Federation in Isa Town.
Players initially took part in a round-robin competition, after which the top scoring players in each group progressed to the final rounds.
In the semi-finals, Marwan defeated Amar Maki 12-10 while Abdullah Khalfan defeated Ali Al Khayyat 12-11. In the play-off for third place, Amar overcame Ali 8-5.
Then, in the final match, Marwan claimed the title with a 12-9 win over Abdullah.
BTA and tournament director Dan Barrie said: “It was great to see these skilful young players playing with such passion and intensity."
