On the instructions of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, the General Sports Authority has opened registration for the settlement of the sportspeople’s outstanding dues at the national clubs, associations and federations following the conclusion of the 2021/2022 sports season.

The move comes as the General Sports Authority aims to measure the level of the Kingdom’s sports establishments’ commitment to the liabilities of all the sportspeople and workers serving under their umbrellas.

The General Sports Authority also confirmed its keenness to implement all the directives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, which aim to promote the Bahraini sports and maintain healthy accounts at all the sports entities, highlighting His Highness’ initiative to honour the 20 clubs that managed to fulfil all their financial obligations.

Based on the process of counting the entitlements, appropriate solutions will be studied in the event that some parties fail to fulfil their commitments, as the General Sports Authority will issue a circular in this regard, including the controls that will ensure that these accumulations do not recur in the coming years.

The General Sports Authority pointed out the need to adhere to the standard contract model approved by the Authority in all contracts concluded by clubs, associations and federations, which aims to protect the rights of all parties and contribute to putting an end to the accumulation of debts on sports institutions in the Kingdom.

The General Sports Authority called on all the concerned athletes to register through the website www.gsaplayers.com, with the need to adhere to the registration period until June 12.
