Worley wins Sestrieres giant slalom
Sestriere : France's Tessa Worley followed up last month's win in Killington with success in Saturday's women's World Cup giant slalom in Sestrieres.
The specialist in the discipline, who suffered a serious right knee injury in 2013, was joined on the podium by Italy's Sofia Goggia and Switzerland's overall World Cup champion Lara Gut.
The 27-year-old Worley ended a three-year World Cup famine in her favoured event at the Vermont ski station of Killington a fortnight ago.
The 2013 giant slalom champion shared third with Gut after the first run with only 0.05sec splitting the best four skiers.
A perfect second run and mistakes from Tina Wierather and Mikaela Schiffrin, who had finished in front of her in the morning, lifted her to a tenth World Cup win, all coming in this discipline.
