Jaber ready for fifth round

Manama: The fifth round of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East is set to get underway with the drivers preparing to take on the Dubai Autodrome track for the second time within two weeks. The penultimate round concludes three back-to-back race weekends in the UAE, beginning at Yas Marina Circuit in January, finishing this weekend here in Dubai before heading back to Bahrain for the series finale early next month.

Hosting this weekend’s festivities will be the Grand Prix Circuit of Dubai  Autodrome, with each race consisting of 12 laps of the 5.39km track. For each driver the importance of the last two rounds in the series is huge, and with the championship title hanging in the balance as the drivers make their way into the business end of the season.

Jaber Al Khalifa is looking forward to getting back on the track this weekend, the experienced Bahraini driver has been consistent throughout the season with his performances giving him a commanding lead at the top of the Bronze category. The veteran driver now has his eyes firmly set on silverware knowing that with two productive final rounds he could be crowned champion of his category in his home country of Bahrain next month.

Speaking ahead Jaber said: “I am really looking forward to this weekend, it is the final stretch of the season now and I am extremely happy to be racing here in Dubai and then in my home country of Bahrain for the series finale. I know the Autodrome track well and I managed to achieve my fastest lap time here a couple of weeks ago which gives me confidence going forward.”
