Sitra Club were crowned champions of the Under-21 Basketball League in its inaugural 2025–2026 season following an 84–60 victory over Al Najma in the final at Um Al Hassam Sports Hall last night.
Sitra set the tone early, dominating the opening half with quarter scores of 24–8 and 20–11. Al Najma fought back in the third quarter, edging it 26–20 to briefly narrow the gap, but Sitra quickly reasserted control, closing the game with a dominant 20–15 final period.
Ali Mohsen led Sitra’s scoring with 24 points, supported by Ebrahim Murad with 15 and Ali Salman with 13.
For Al Najma, Jock James finished with 18 points, Mohammed Sami added 14, and Montahar Hasan Khalifa contributed 12.
Sitra’s victory was built on disciplined defense and efficient offensive execution, as they extended their lead to 28 points in the second quarter, weathered a brief Al Najma resurgence, and then surged away in the final frame to seal a deserved championship title in the first edition of the competition.
