Rotax Introduces New E10 Mini Electric Category for 2026 RMC Grand Finals
BRP-Rotax has announced a major expansion to its electric karting lineup, confirming that the all-new Rotax E10 Mini will debut as an official class at the 2026 Rotax MAX Challenge (RMC) Grand Finals.
The introduction follows the earlier release of the Rotax E10 to the global market, marking another milestone in the company’s push toward cleaner and more accessible karting technologies.
36 Young Drivers to Compete in First-Ever All-Electric Mini Class
For the first time, 36 young racers will take part in a dedicated electric E10 Mini category at the RMC Grand Finals. Participation cannot be purchased; instead, drivers must qualify through selected race events and programs throughout the 2026 season.
Details on qualification formats will be communicated through the official Rotax Distributor network. Families and young drivers are encouraged to contact their local Rotax distributor for upcoming information.
A New Energy for the Grand Finals
The E10 Mini class expands the diversity of powertrains at the Grand Finals without replacing any existing combustion-engine categories. Instead, it introduces an additional pathway for young drivers to experience competitive karting.
The E10 Mini platform brings several benefits designed to keep racing fair, simple, and exciting:
- Standardized performance with sealed, equal engines
- Plug & Race convenience — no tuning or fuel mixing required
- Instant electric torque for fast, responsive acceleration
- Consistent power delivery throughout each race
- A Boost Button that adds strategy and excitement
Rotax says the new category offers a fresh style of racing while preserving all established combustion options.
E10 Series Builds a Progressive Pathway for Young Racers
Developed fully in-house, the Rotax E10 platform aims to make karting cleaner, quieter, and easier for newcomers. The low-voltage, low-maintenance system is built to benefit families, race schools, tracks, and organizers.
The E10 lineup includes:
- E10 Bambini (ages 6–9)
- E10 Mini (ages 9–12)
Together, they create a natural progression toward the Rotax E20, an electric performance category already featured at top-tier karting events.
Looking Ahead to the 2026 Season
The launch of the E10 Mini category underscores BRP-Rotax’s commitment to broadening global karting opportunities. Young drivers who prefer electric racing will now have the chance to compete internationally, while all traditional combustion categories remain unchanged.
More details on qualification events and opportunities will be shared globally through Rotax distributors. Interested families are encouraged to stay in touch with their local Rotax Distributor for updates.
