Ahmed Al Zayed wins Bahrain Defence Force Annual Golf Championship

The closing ceremony for the His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force Annual Golf Championship was held this evening, with Ahmed Mohammed Al Zayed claiming the top title with a gross score of 69 strokes. The tournament, a prestigious local event, concluded at the Bahrain Golf Club in Al Hunainiyah after competitions were held on November 8.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Advisor for Financial and Technical Affairs at the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force, and was attended by His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhiab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff and Chairman of the Bahrain Golf Club. In a speech, the Chief of Staff thanked Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa for his continuous support of sports, especially golf, which has helped establish the championship as one of the country’s most important tournaments.
Khaled Salem Al Atham took the second-place gross score with 70 strokes. Following the application of handicaps, the net competition saw Duaij Ali Ghadeer secure first place with a net score of 67 strokes, followed by Abdullah Khalil and Mohammed Abbas Hassan, both finishing on 69 strokes.
His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa presented the trophies and awards to the winning players and honoured the organizing committee. He congratulated the participants, noting the excellent organization of the tournament which featured the participation of approximately 80 players.
