Kingdom University starts new academic year
Kingdom University recently announced the start of its new academic year 2016-2017, where an Induction Day was held for the new students and transfers.
Having just reopened the University campus, the Induction Day was the perfect platform for new students to be introduced to the University, its programmes and the services available. Students were taken on a familiarization tour of the entire campus where they witnessed firsthand the quality of the environment in which they will be pursuing their higher studies.
Speaking about the Induction day and new academic year, President of Kingdom University, Professor Yusuf Abdulghaffar said: “On behalf of Kingdom University, I am delighted to have welcomed our new students to the Induction Day for the new academic year, as well as our current students for the continuation of their studies. I especially welcome our new students to our campus and to their first year, which heralds a new beginning in their academic life. The Induction Day is where our students embark on their academic journey that will define their careers in the years ahead. The main purpose of the day was to provide the students with an experiential insight into the University and its processes. Moreover, students were able to meet and interact with the Faculty Deans to broaden their understanding of the courses offered at the University. We are glad that the Induction Day served to ensure the smooth transition into the next phase of their academic life.”
The Induction Day took place from 12:30 pm onwards, and the main activities were held in the General Hall on the Mezzanine floor. During the day students were presented with information by the Admission and Registration Department, regarding the registration process. This was followed by a presentation conducted by the Computer Center, which enlightened students on the IT Systems and laboratories available on campus. To ease the entire process for incoming students, they were all provided with a USB containing the Student Handbook. This Handbook consisted of all the information that a new student would require when joining the University, and will assist them in getting accustomed to the University’s regulations and policies.
