Bahrain Chamber Secures ISO 27001 Certification

The Bahrain Chamber has obtained the international ISO 27001 certification for Information Security Management Systems, marking a new institutional milestone that adds to its record of continuous achievements across various fields. This accomplishment reflects the Chamber’s strong commitment to adopting global best practices in digital governance, data protection, and cybersecurity, in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s vision for secure and sustainable digital transformation.

This achievement is the result of integrated and dedicated efforts by the Chamber’s executive team, which successfully fulfilled all requirements of this internationally recognized standard through the implementation of a comprehensive Information Security Management System (ISMS).

 In this regard, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Sameer Nass, stated that obtaining ISO 27001 represents a significant institutional achievement that underscores the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening digital governance and cybersecurity frameworks. He noted that the certification constitutes a key step in the Chamber’s secure digital transformation journey, contributing to enhanced transparency, improved service efficiency, and increased institutional reliability.  

Nass explained that the Chamber adopts an integrated institutional approach that aligns organizational, operational, and digital dimensions under a unified strategic vision that places customers at the center of service delivery.

He further highlighted that compliance with ISO 27001 requirements reinforces stakeholder confidence, strengthens cybersecurity culture across all departments, reduces operational and information security risks, and enhances Bahrain’s competitiveness at both regional and international levels.

Nass noted that this certification builds on the Chamber’s record of internationally recognized standards, including ISO 9001 (2015) for quality management, ISO 22301 (2019) for business continuity, and ISO/ IEC 27001 (2022), reflecting its sustained commitment to quality, resilience, and information security.

 For his part, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Chamber, Atef Al Khaja, stated that obtaining ISO 27001 represents an important step in strengthening the Chamber’s institutional framework for information protection. He emphasized that the certification ensures the secure handling of data exchanged with local and international partners in accordance with internationally recognized standards, while reinforcing the Chamber’s commitment to protecting members’ data and embedding a culture of institutional excellence.

Al Khaja clarified that the certification is not an end, but rather part of a broader strategic vision aimed at continuously developing the Chamber’s services and accelerating digital transformation through a secure, resilient, and future-ready technological infrastructure.

He noted that ISO 27001 enhances organizational readiness, supports innovation, and contributes to improving member experience and overall institutional performance.
