American Mission Hospital’s three facilities, at Manama, Saar and Amwaj, have been awarded for the third time consecutively, the DIAMOND Accreditation, which is the highest level among accreditations given by NHRA (National Health Regulatory Authority) to healthcare facilities in Bahrain.

After strict inspections, NHRA awards this accreditation only to those facilities that meet 95% or more of the strict Accreditation Standards which define adherence to international best practices in quality and patient safety.

These were given by the Chairman of Bahrain’s Supreme Council of Health, His Excellency Lt. Gen. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, at a ceremony held on Thursday (11 September) at the Royal Saray, Hotel in Seef.

The certifications were received by the Medical Directors of the branches and the QI/RM & IC (Quality Improvement/ Risk Management and Infection Control) team.

“Our new facility in A’Ali, the King Hamad American Mission Hospital, had also been awarded a Diamond Accreditation last year, and our Riffa facility is also a Diamond Accredited facility”, said Dr George Cheriyan, the Corporate CEO.

The hospital’s QI/RM & IC (Quality Improvement/Risk Management and Infection Control) team led by Dr Jameela Al Salman, the Director of Quality oversees the processes and quality standards and their implementation, he added.
