Strategic delegation meets Malaysian PM, key ministers

A high-powered Bahraini delegation, co-led by His Excellency Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and Her Excellency Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), has embarked on a strategic two-day visit to Malaysia aimed at bolstering bilateral economic ties and attracting investment.
Supported by His Excellency Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Malaysia, the visit underscores the island nation’s ambition to position itself as a premier destination for international businesses seeking regional expansion.
Key Engagements
The delegation is holding meetings with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, and Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick. They are also engaging with officials from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA).
A business networking dinner hosted by the Kuala Lumpur Business Club (KLBC) is part of the itinerary, aimed at showcasing Bahrain’s investment potential across priority sectors including manufacturing, logistics, ICT, tourism, and financial services.
Expanding Relations
Bahrain and Malaysia recently celebrated 50 years of diplomatic relations. This visit follows a series of high-level exchanges and agreements aimed at enhancing economic, cultural and scientific cooperation between the two nations.
The mission is part of ‘Team Bahrain’ strategy to diversify economic partnerships and generate sustainable job creation by attracting foreign direct investment.
