First Corona recovery

Manama

The Ministry of Health has announced the first recovery from Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Kingdom. The individual, a male Bahraini national, was discharged from the isolation centre after responding positively to the medical care provided by the Kingdom’s specialised medical team, which was in line with measures outlined by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The ministry confirmed the individual had gone through extensive medical testing to ensure he has fully recovered from the virus before being discharged, and will remain under monitoring post-discharge. The ministry further highlighted that the individual in question had returned from Iran during the month of February, before the country announced its COVID-19 outbreak.

The Ministry of Health urges all individuals returning from Iran or other COVID-19 affected countries to schedule their medical examinations by visiting www. moh.gov.bh/444 or calling 444. In another development, the Ministry of Health announced eight Bahraini nationals have been discharged from quarantine after completing a preventative mandatory 14-day stay, having tested negative for the Coronavirus (COVID-19), as per recommendations outlined by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The ministry highlighted that as many as 20 individuals have been discharged from quarantine so far. The ministry noted that the majority of those discharged from quarantine had returned from Iran during February, and the others had returned from other COVID-19 affected countries.
