Artistes set to give life to immortal tales of Meluha

MELUHA, the magical land of peace and love, an Indian classical dance drama will be staged at the Bahrain Cultural Hall on Friday, 3rd January, 2020. This programme will be held under the patronage of Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Director General, Culture and Arts at Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities.

The Chief Guest for the programme is Mrs Farah Mattar, Director of Culture and Arts and the Guests of Honour are Mr Abdulrahman Jumma, Chairman and Managing Director of UNEECO Group, Mr Mohammed Dadabhai, Chairman of Dadabhai Group and Mr Juzer Rupawala, Director, LuLu Group.

The theme of the dance drama is based on a mythological fiction tale. MELUHA a land of peace and love is not merely a heritage or geographical domain filled by customs, rituals or traditions. On the contrary, Meluha is the bedrock of serenity, peace and affluence that any human being shall long for.

It is a story of friendship, a promise that is unbreakable, a bond that is there through good and bad times, which is also created through good deeds to self and others. This imaginary land of peace and love is protected from evil and dark forces. Steelmark Mideast is producing the dance drama under the banner “Soorya”.

Mr Soorya Krishnamoorty, is the founder of SOORYA Stage and Film Society. Soorya has its Chapters in 36 countries in the world including Bahrain and about 50 centres in India. Vinod Das M, Managing Director of Steelmark Mideast WLL, said he strongly believes in supporting and nurturing talents and does this as part of his social responsibility.

UNEECO, Dadabhai Group, Crown Industries, BANZ Group, KIMs Health Care Group, LULU Group, Zayani Motors, UAE Exchange and Fine Foods are the event sponsors. The concept, script, choreography and direction is done by a renowned artist in Bahrain, Mrs Vidya Sreekumar and the artists are all seasoned dancers and have performed on various local and international platforms.

The performers include child prodigies from Bahrain and India. Music direction for this dance drama will be done by Sri Palakkad Sreeram who is a well-known singer and music director in South India.
