Farmer acquitted from sexual abuse case

ManamaThe High Criminal Court acquitted a farmer of sexually assaulting a boy due to contradiction in the police witnesses’ statements and lack of evidence.

The case was reported to police by the alleged victim’s father who said that his son was sexually abused on a farm by the Asian man. It’s claimed that the alleged victim was with his friends feeding animals on the farm, and the defendant dragged him into a room, where he allegedly sexually assaulted him.

One of his friends initially stated that he was there when the incident happened, but changed his statement later, saying that he was told about it by other friends.

The defendant’s lawyer told prosecutors it was impossible to rely on the evidences submitted in the case against her client. Moreover, the medical report confirmed that there were no signs of assault against the boy.
