Twins give birth in Bahrain and India minutes apart

Manama: In a remarkable coincidence, identical twin sisters gave birth to their little ones on the same day, minutes apart in Bahrain and India separated by 3000 kilometers in distance.

When Liya Paul, wife of Indian expatriate Blasson Varghese, gave birth to a baby girl at American Mission Hospital(AMH) in Bahrain on April 23, at 10.37 am,  her twin sister Limiya Paul gave birth to a baby boy in  a local hospital at 12.45pm  in her hometown Ernakulam in the Indian state of Kerala.  Limiya's husband Nithin works as a staff nurse in Kuwait.

The sisters said that this isn't the first time their unique twin bond has come into play. The women themselves were born just 3 minutes apart, and they’ve been in sync with each other ever since.

Apart from their children, Limiya and Liya have some surprising coincidences in their life.  The sisters celebrate their birthday on December 19.

The twins' husbands have birthdays in January.

The sisters got engaged on the same day on January 3 last year.

While Liya's marriage with Blasson was solemnized on January 5, Limiya’s marriage with Nithin took place three days later on January 8.

Commenting on these coincidences Blasson says: ‘When both Liya and Limiya were carrying, we used to say it would be a miracle if our kids’ birthday was on same month- April or May 2016,” Blasson told DT News.

Liya gave birth to Aksa in the same hospital (AMH) where she works as a staff nurse. Her original due date was on April 17, and Limiya's on May 5. When they still hadn’t gone into labor past their due date, they booked a  doctor’s appointment.

Limiya’s newborn son is christened Salvin. Limiya and her husband Nitin who were working in Kuwait ,were on vacation in India.

Liya and Limiya are twin daughters of M.Y Paulose and Saramma Paulose who belongs to the small village Manjapra in  Ernakulam district in Kerala, while  Bahrain resident Blasson belongs to  Mookkannoor village, a few kilometers away in the same district.
