Retired Brigadier Khalid Al Muawda remembered for 34 years of service

Tributes highlight his professionalism, discipline and dedication to Bahrain’s security

Retired Brigadier Khalid bin Abdullah bin Saqr Al Muawda has been remembered for a distinguished 34-year police career marked by professionalism, discipline and dedication to serving Bahrain and its people.

Al Muawda began his service in 1976 and concluded his career in 2010, working across several security bodies, including the General Directorate of Training and Guards and later the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs.

Throughout his career, he continued to pursue professional training after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Police Sciences, including strategic courses on reports received by security leadership and community policing.

He received several medals and service awards in recognition of his long and distinguished career, including the Security Long Service Medals for 15, 20 and 25 years, the First Class Distinguished Work Medal, the First Class Isa bin Salman Medal, the First Class Excellent Service Medal and the Fourth Class Isa Medal.

Deputy Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel described Al Muawda as a loyal security officer who devoted his time and effort to enforcing the law and maintaining security. He praised his high level of discipline, professional commitment, cooperation and dedication to mentoring younger officers.

Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior Major General Abdullah Mohammed Al Zayed also expressed his condolences, describing the late officer as a dedicated and highly experienced professional who left a positive impression through his expertise, security awareness and respectful dealings with colleagues.

Retired Major General Abdulrahman Saleh Al Sannan recalled Al Muawda as a meticulous officer known for organisation, archiving and preserving information. He also highlighted his generosity and close relationships with colleagues, including his tradition of hosting Ramadan iftar gatherings that brought family, friends and fellow officers together.

Retired Major General Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, who trained alongside Al Muawda at the Internal Security Forces College, now King Fahd Security College, beginning in October 1976, described him as a loyal colleague known for high morals, diligence and sound judgement.

Other retired officers, including Major General Khalid bin Ali Al Arifi, Brigadier Nabeel Hassan Shuwaiter and Brigadier Ghazi Saleh Al Sannan, similarly remembered him as a dedicated officer, supportive colleague and respected member of Bahrain’s security community.

They said Al Muawda remained committed to his duties beyond official working hours and was widely respected for his humility, patience, wisdom and ability to handle responsibility.

The Ministry of Interior extended its condolences to the late officer’s family and relatives, praying that Allah Almighty grant him mercy and forgiveness and provide his family with patience and solace.
