Air India Express Restarts Bahrain, Qatar Flights; Expands Gulf Network

Air travel between India and the Gulf is getting a significant boost as Air India Express resumes key routes and ramps up operations across West Asia.

Starting April 30, 2026, the airline has reinstated flights to Bahrain and Qatar, while also increasing frequencies to major destinations in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. The move strengthens connectivity across one of the busiest travel corridors for expatriates and business travellers.

With over 40 daily flights now operating to the region, the airline is reconnecting multiple Indian cities to the Gulf. Services have resumed from key metros and regional hubs including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kannur, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Varanasi, and Amritsar.

The airline will also continue its established operations to key Gulf destinations such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Al Ain, Muscat, Jeddah, and Riyadh.

The reinstatement marks a full restoration of several popular routes linking India with the Gulf, offering greater flexibility and travel options for passengers across the region.
