As Iran threatened to open the “gates of hell” against the United States and Israel on the fourth day of the war, the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) declared that the Kingdom remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty against any aggression.

Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said Bahrain’s advanced air defence systems and highly trained forces are fully capable of safeguarding the Kingdom’s skies, waters and borders. He affirmed that the BDF’s modern military equipment and sophisticated combat capabilities place it on par with advanced armed forces worldwide.

He praised the BDF’s air defence units for demonstrating exceptional capability in countering Iranian missile and drone attacks, describing the strikes as hostile, indiscriminate and in violation of international humanitarian law. Since the start of the attacks on Saturday, February 28, he said personnel have acted with high operational efficiency and professionalism in confronting what he termed an unjustified and dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability, and causing damage to civilian infrastructure.

The Commander-in-Chief stated that BDF forces have intercepted and destroyed the majority of missiles and drones launched towards various areas of the Kingdom, preventing greater loss of life and property. He expressed pride in the high level of readiness and vigilance shown in protecting Bahrain’s airspace, commending personnel across all units for carrying out their national duties with dedication.

He stressed that the effective performance of the defence systems sends a clear message that the Kingdom’s skies are secure and that any hostile act will be met with firm and decisive action. The precision and professionalism displayed in neutralising incoming threats, he added, reflect the BDF’s broader deterrent capabilities and its integrated defence coverage across land, sea and air.

Reassuring the public, he said Bahrain’s skies remain fully protected, with missiles and drones intercepted before reaching their intended targets. He urged all personnel to maintain the same level of vigilance and readiness, expressing full confidence in their ability to confront all threats with resolve.

The Commander-in-Chief also expressed pride in the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister. He said the high combat readiness demonstrated by the BDF reflects this royal support and the unwavering commitment of its personnel to defend every part of the Kingdom’s territory.
